🌱 Healthier Spaces for Our Children

It’s time to stop using glyphosate, the active ingredient in Roundup, in our parks, schools, and public spaces. Glyphosate is linked to serious health risks, including cancer, and has no place in the environments where our children play, learn, and grow.

By eliminating harmful chemicals and adopting safer alternatives, we can protect our kids while saving money in the long run. Healthy outdoor spaces aren’t just a luxury—they’re a necessity for raising thriving, happy children.

🍎 Planting Food Forests

Imagine a city where schools, parks, police stations, and libraries are surrounded by lush fruit trees, berry bushes, and edible perennials. These “food forests” would do more than beautify our public spaces—they would nourish our community, providing free, fresh produce for residents while teaching sustainable practices.

Food forests are a long-term investment in Norman’s health and resilience. They create gathering spaces, foster community pride and demonstrate the power of working together to grow a better future.

💧 Clean Water for Norman

Access to clean water is fundamental to public health. Yet, Lake Thunderbird—our city’s primary water source—faces ongoing challenges with pollution and water quality. Cleaning up Lake Thunderbird and improving our water supply system must be top priorities.

Riley is committed to partnering with experts, agencies, and other municipalities (e.g., OKC, Moore, Del City, and Midwest City) to address these issues, ensuring Norman has access to safe, reliable, and high-quality water for generations to come.
